We read The Mitten to introduce our Animals in Winter theme. We learned about the animals in the story and acted out the story using masks and a sheet as the mitten. The students had a great time.
We read non-fiction books about animals in winter and learned about animals that migrate, hibernate, and adapt. We constructed a class book about animals in winter.
We used penguins and rainbow fish crackers to make addition problems. We ate the rainbow fish crackers for snack and used paper fish to represent them on a paper penguin to show our problems.
