Native Americans
We used the Scholastic First Thanksgiving Virtual Field trip to learn about the Wompanoag Indian tribe that made friends with the Pilgrims and helped the. We compared the Pilgrims Daily life to the Wompanoags Daily Life. The comparisons included food, houses, clothing, chores, and games.
Then we made TLC Indians and created pattern headbands. We also took a picture in front of our class TEE PEE.

The First Thanksgiving Project
We learned about the different types of media last week. We created our own computer media project by illustrating and recording sentences in Pixie 2 to tell the story of the first Thanksgiving.

Turkey Feather Addition
We made turkey's and rolled a die to determine how many feathers to put on our turkeys. We used two different colors to show an addition problem and completed a response sheet to show our work.

Pattern Block Indians
We created an Indian head and shirt. Then we used real pattern block to practice making our own design for the shirts. Then we used paper pattern blocks that we glued to decorate the Indian's shirt. Last we counted how many of each pattern block we used and wrote it on the recording sheet.

Turkey Disguises
We read Twas the Night before Thanksgiving and created turkey disguises with our families so they would not be eaten on Thanksgiving. They did a great job and thanks to all the family members who helped their children make these so adorable.
