Moon Writing

While learning about the moon, we talked about what we would need to survive on the moon and talked about our needs. The students created a rocket and wrote what they would take to the moon and why they needed it.

 

Moon Phases

We created phases of the moon. I gave the students white circles and they cut them to show first and last quarter and used a whole circle to show the full moon and used a white crayon to show the new moon.  Then we used oreos to show the phases of the moon.

 

We took the Moon for a Walk.

We read I Took The Moon for a Walk and then brainstormed what we would do if we could take the moon for a walk. Then the kids illustrated and wrote about it.

we went to the zoo to see a cheetah.

Sun Moon Stars!

During the past several weeks we have been learning about the sun, the moon, and the stars. We read non-fiction books and watched PowerPoints and read about them on Pebble Go! Then we created our own illustrations, circle maps and wrote sentences.

 

 

Objects in the Sky

This years science Kindergarten TEKS were changed a little to include identifying objects in the daytime and nighttime sky. We read non-fiction information books about the sun and the clouds and constructed circle maps to help us write about the sun and the clouds. Then we did the same with the moon and the stars. We did not get to write about the stars due to missing 4 days of school due to an ice and snow storm.
