Eat An Apple Poem

Eat An Apple

Eat an apple
Save the core
Plant the seeds
And grow some more.

We read this poem and created illustrations for each line to show the sequence of the poem. The directions for the art are from Deanna Jumps Apple Unit that can be purchased at teacherspayteachers.com.

There Is An Alligator Under My Bed

We read There is An Alligator Under My Bed by Mercer Mayer. We made predictions based on the illustrations, wrote a story map of the beginning, middle, and end, and we illustrated and wrote an extenstion of the story. I also found a video of Mercer Mayer reading the book and the kids loved it. It helped make the story more real and made making up an ending to the story easier.
