In honor of President's Day on Monday, this week we learned about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Barack Obama. We talked about what qualities it takes to be a President and read a book called My Teacher for President. The students constructed pictures of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Barack Obama and dictated a fact that they learned about them. I typed their fact and cut up the words so they could re-build their sentence on their pictures.
We also compared George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We found out that they both were presidents, were both born in Februray, and were good leaders and smart. George Washington helped free the British people from the King and Abraham Lincoln helped free the slaves.
