We had a great time learning about Holiday traditions and Christmas
celebrations around the world. We celebrated St. Lucia Day by making crowns and eating sweet rolls.
We put our shoes outside our classroom and Sinter Klaus left us candy in
them, just like the children in Holland.
We read a book about Christmas Cookies with our reading buddies
and learned how giving is much better than receiving and made
cookies with each other.
We read Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and a non-fiction book about
Caribou (reindeers) and we compared Rudolph to a real reindeer.
We make reindeer antlers and painted our nose to look like Rudolph.
We celebrated Polar Express Day by wearing pajamas, reading the book,
and acting out the story by having chocolate milk and donuts on the train
( our classroom chairs).
We also enjoyed a Holiday sing along and classroom party on the Friday before Christmas break.
