We read Go Away Big Green Monster and made our own monsters and created a graph to show our favorite color monsters. I used the book to introduce the word wall word away and review the words go, big, and color words. The graph turned out to be a lesson on the same number as, but that's OK. I live for teachable moments even if they are not what I expected.
