We celebrated MLK day by reading The Crayon Box That Talked. We learned that even though we might be different if we work together we can do great things.
I also showed the kids a brown egg and a white egg and we talked about how they were still both eggs even though they were different colors. Then we made predictions about what was inside the eggs would be the same or different. Once I broke the eggs opened we talked about our predictions and learned that the eggs look the same on the inside. So, just like people, it doesn't matter the color of our skin we are all the same on the inside.
Finally, we read a book about MLK's life and created our own TLC art project of Martin Luther King Jr. They always come out so cute!
