Problem Solving Using The Smart Board

We used the smart board to create and solve addition word problems. We used the program Pixie 2 to show how to use the problem solving plan to solve math story problems.
1. Understand the Problem- We circle the numbers, underline the question, and box the math words that tell us what operation to use.
2. Make a Plan - Decide how to solve a problem, in this case we are going to draw a picture
3. Solve - draw the picture and count to find the answer
4. Look Back - We write out the equation and check our work.
