Bear Subtraction

For math on our bear day we used gummy bears to create and solve subtraction problems. I forgot to take pictures of the kids work, but here is an example I did. I gave the kids real gummy bears, a small plate, and a numbered die. They counted the gummy bears and rolled the die to see how many to eat (take away). Then they filled in the recording sheet to show the subtraction problem they made. Finally they used paper bears to illustrate their problem so they could eat the real gummy bears for snack.
