We made penguins and then used them to create math story problems. I gave each student a bag with two colors of rainbow goldfish. They sorted their goldfish by color and glued them on the penguin's arms. They counted and wrote how many of each color they had and they wrote how many fish their penguin had all together.
We will be learning about penguins later in the week, so we started today in math by drawing a penguin and measuring it with link cubes.
