Hot Chocolate Math

We had a great time learning to add with this fun winter math activity. The students made a story mat with 2 mugs of hot chocolate. Then I gave them each a die and some real marshmallows. They rolled the die and put that amount of marshmallows in their hot chocolate. They did this twice and then wrote how many marshmallows were in each cup and how may they had all together to create an addition problem. We got to eat the leftover marshmallows for snack YUM!
