Silly Sally

We celebrated letter S by reading and doing activities with the book Silly Sally by Audrey Wood. On Monday we took a picture walk and made predictions from the illustrations. Then we read the book and found all the rhyming words. We also identified the main character and other characters and created our own character map. On Tuesday, we identified all the nouns and action verbs and acted out the story. On Wednesday, we learned about alliteration and the students created their own silly character using their name starting with an S instead of their letter. On Thursday, we used character pictures to create flow maps to re-tell the sequence of events in the story. On Friday, we are going to choral read Silly Sally to our 2nd grade reading buddies and write/illustrate our favorite part of Silly Sally. The kids really learned a lot this week and loved the book Silly Sally.
